Gifts to FOPLA help the Ottawa Public Library (OPL) deliver the special programs, collections, and services that residents rely on, made possible in part through the funds we donate to OPL each year.
Funds donated by FOPLA also support material purchases, upgrades to facilities and equipment, and community events enjoyed by library visitors every day.
Donations have also allowed FOPLA to award over 75 scholarships and bursaries to students in information and library studies at the University of Ottawa and Algonquin College, helping to develop Ottawa’s future librarians and library technicians.
Each donation helps sustain the Ottawa Public Library and its branches. More than 75% of our revenue is directed to OPL, ensuring most of your gift directly supports local libraries.
Your contribution enhances programs, improves facilities, and expands services for people of all ages. From youth writing contests to adult arts workshops, Indigenous traditions and Black history initiatives, and branch upgrades, your support benefits the whole community.​
