Scholarships and Bursaries

This scholarship was created by the Friends of the Ottawa Public Library Association (FOPLA) to support racialized or Indigenous students and encourage them to pursue their education and careers in an essential library sector, public libraries. Value of the award: $3,500 Eligibility Criteria Applicants must: be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a person with protected/refugee status; be admitted as a full-time or part-time graduate student in the Master of Information Studies program at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ottawa; and provide documented proof of Indigenous identity, in accordance with the requirements of the University of Ottawa Eligibility for Focused Admissions, Scholarships, and Bursaries for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis People administrative procedure; OR be a racialized person (member of a visible minority) and defined as a person other than Indigenous (Aboriginal), who is non-white in colour or race, regardless of place of birth or citizenship.

This scholarship was created in honour of Barbara Clubb, a former City Librarian in Ottawa. The scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving student at the University of Ottawa’s School of Information Studies who has work or volunteer experience in a library. Level or program of study: Master’sValue of the award: Minimum $1,000Eligibility Criteria The applicant must:Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a person with the protected/refugee status;Be registered as a full-time or part-time student in Master’s of Information Studies at the School of Information Studies of the University of Ottawa;Have a good academic record;Be a resident of the National Capital Region, including Gatineau; andHave work or volunteer experience in a library.
