The Friends of the Ottawa Public Library Association (FOPLA) are a fundraising group that work to support and promote the services of the Ottawa Public Library. Run by dedicated volunteers, FOPLA helps the Ottawa Public Library create a strong library community in Ottawa.
FOPLA sells used books in volunteer-run book stores and self-serve book stalls in library branches across the city, and at specialty sales like our monthly Mammoth Used Book sale. FOPLA is proud to provide over $250,000 annually to the Ottawa Public Library for services and materials not covered by their municipal budget.
Get involved today by becoming a Member or as part of our growing volunteer team. FOPLA is always looking for new, enthusiastic Friends to help support our fundraising efforts. Volunteering with FOPLA also fulfills the 40 hours of community involvement required to graduate Secondary School in Ontario.
