We want to let you, our valued customers, know about some upcoming adjustments to our used book prices in FOPLA locations throughout Ottawa.

The volunteers of the Friends of the Ottawa Public Library Association work every day to support the Ottawa Public Library by selling used books in library branches across our community.

Every time you purchase a book, you help us support the Ottawa Public Library directly. The funds we donate to the Ottawa Public Library are used to purchase equipment and materials, and fund programs and services not included in their municipal budget.

As we haven’t adjusted prices in several years, we feel the time is right for a slight increase to more accurately reflect the value we provide to our customers. Effective January 1st, 2018, we will be implementing minimum pricing in our used book stores and monthly Mammoth Sale, in order to help us offer more consistent pricing to all our customers across Ottawa.

You may notice new pricing information in your local FOPLA book store to reflect these new pricing minimums where needed. These changes will also allow us to maintain a high level of support for the Ottawa Public Library every year.

We pride ourselves on selling high-quality, inexpensive books with our dedicated volunteers, and we’re committed to continue offering our customers a great product at a great price. Thank you for your continued support, and as always, happy reading!
